February 2007 Our new boat: 'ia lele' - flying fish   'ia lele' joined the Dive Savaii Team last December, being unused at the back of the resort for many years, we decided that this little boat needed a 'make -over' and Dive Savaii needed a second boat.  This project has kept us busy during our rainy quiet season. 'ia lele' was a typical 'Chuck Noris' boat from the 70's and now it is smiling in its brand new white armour.   Our job is not yet complete, as we plan to still put on a roof cover and our engine is in desperate need of some new parts. Once completed, 'ia lele' will live up to its name, making us more flexible with visiting other dive sites that are further away. When the weather is bad here in the north, we will be able to 'fly' down to the south (with car & trailer) and do our dives from there. That means diving all year round for 'Dive Savaii'. 'ia lele' will also be our safety boat for when we are using 'Zucho', our 1st boat. |
